I like what he said. It makes a very good point.
I don't mind having the pvp unlock skills in pvp, but then I don't play much Pvp. It does detract from the work others have put into gaining all the skills they need through hard work, but Pvp is about being able to instantly walk in and be able to play(as I recall Anet saying somewhere) and this goes along with that.
But FoW affects PvE, and is a big sign of hard work (despite Ebayers). Its difficulty in obtainment is part of why some people want it. Myself, I get by just fine with regular old 1.5k. If you think it looks good, and want it, then go get it. But Ebayers are bad enough. Please don't give them a way to do it through Anet.

Besides, the FoW armor is generally ugly compared to some of the factions armors IMO (I trashed my monks FoW armor to save space, replaced it with 1.5k kurzick. I've never regretted it.)

You dont need to ebay gold to get fow first off. All the armor you need is droknars 1.5k or Kaineng center 1.5k which is the max armor stats. People that have fow have worked very hard for it, wheter they farmed up every material for it, farmed gold items and sold them, or just played the market game with buying for cheap and selling for more. I personal would like to get fow armor so what i do me and guildie do underworld runs usually for about 2-4 hours. To detract from the boredom we talk in game or on vent. End result i have 5 shards from 3 FOW runs and 59 ectos from our numerous UW runs all this in about a month of just farming when other guildies go to sleep around 1am eastern time when America actual has favor.

Some people have a life, family, a job and are eager to spend money on virtual property if it reduces the amount of time they need to invest into the game - and if it helps Anet I am sure they're even more eager.

People say the game's not meant for them, the casuals, but then I'd say you should be caring more for your "real life" if you believe FoW-Armour is worth the ridicilous time you invested and now fear becoming a waste.

You don't need FoW armor. It's a choice. If you want it, work har and earn it. lots of others did, what makes you so special? And yes, there is working hard in a game. Look at EviL. They worked hard in gvgs and have earned many things. If you have a family, you shouldn't be spending money on armor in a game.

So you would actually pay for it? What would you gain exactly because if it was on the store (most unlikely due to the fact that most of the people would quit because of it) then we'll see loads of noobs with it and thus you've just wasted REAL money when for 1. it'll become common so no one would care and 2. your 1.5k armor or whatever has the same stats.

And just for your information, I know people who have FOW armor that are in university with part time jobs, full time work + family.

People who complain that the FoW armor requires too much don't deserve it at all.

There have always been "Noobs" in Fissure-Armour, not only because 55-monking never required any skill or having to be good, but also through luck or a certain level of deceit, like low-buying items from new players. These facts are already enough to demystify the holyness of "Fissure of Woe" armour. You don't have to be good at it, it's no sign of skill.

I actually have around 19k in my storage and no interest in any new armour at all. There it ends, but not for others. Why should they not deserve it? Because they have less time than you, because they don't have the patience to collect all the required materials? Why should grinding, repetitive 24/7 farming make you special? If you decide to leave because you're not special anymore, I think you need to overthink your very own mental attitude towards the game.

I'd rather have FoW-Armour be an achievement for every character as rewards through completing quests, defeating bosses, fighting in pseudo-PvP environments and ending it at the Forgemaster. That's an achievement. The only problem I see with it is the bad AI in PvE and the need of abuse-countering elements like enchantment rending etc.

Because it shows that you put time into getting the armor. Its the whole point behind 15k armor too. It is something you work towards.

And BTW: You don't 'need' Droks armor either. Just get collectors.

FOW ist VERY possible to get for the casual gamer. It just takes him slightly longer than the typical addicted 24/7 Gamer. Let's assume you're farming for it. An average UW Run takes about 20 (good Duo Team) to 40 (bad Duo Team). You will most probably come out with one Ecto each. You only need 105 Ecto for a full set of Armor. That is half an hour playing the game over a period of 105 days. While you're playing, you will most likely find loot (d'uh). This will accumulate with gold drops you can easily sell for quite a lot with a bit of luck.

Et voilá. You're farming about 70 Days, spending 30 Minutes each day and you've got your FOW. The Ectos were dropped and the shards are easily affordable from the money that was dropped in the run. If you get lucky, you will easily cut out another 40 Days out of that by finding a "perfect" rare weapon. I've found plenty of which so it is quite possible.

Most FOW Armors are even designed in a way that you can without much of a problem skip on two pieces of it. Best example would be the Monk FOW and the Mesmer FOW.

So in all honesty, what exactly is so hard to get about this Armor? Do you really believe that a mere 30 Minutes is too much for a casual gamer? Most gamers spend more time chatting in an average mission. -.-

say make it like collectors sets no salvageing, also make it so you have a FoW ticket aka still need to be lvl 20 accended and still do forgemaster quests
and 10 bucks rofl no look at maybe...MAYBE 60-90 per character we dont need it if you weant it that bad eather earn it or "bug the hell out of a net saying that its unfair for you to roll around in droks armor or cantha top stat armor at lvl 1. im going to laugh when they lock zones like they have it in cantha then youre going to bitch you cant be ran anywhere

Lol @ 10 dollars a set. Thats like £5. If Anet did that I would quit Guild Wars. But at like £5 a set I could easily afford to get every character I have which is 16 of them all FOW armor. Everyone would be buying it due to being sooo cheap. I mean 10 dollars these days is nothing. Little kids could easily buy it off their paper round money. The value of ectos would falls massively destroying the economy and many of the wealthier players would quit. Maybe try $60 dollars + a set but even then the idea is stupid and never will happen.

This idea is rediculous. You DO NOT need FOW armor. It is for people who can invest the time and afford it. I have never once grinded for any of my fow armor sets and I dont ebay, scam or farm. I earnt the gold for my first set while I was revising for VERY IMPORTANT EXAMS and still got excellent grades. Wow you have a job so what. Lots of other people have commitments yet can buy it.

Maybe Anet should sell perfect weapons in the shop too?

Just because you bought the game does not make you entitled to everything without doing any work.

While you are winging about not having the time to get it I will be happy with my many sets of FOW armor which I did barely any work to get

FoW armor is not a necessity. If you don't want to work for it, then you shouldn't have it. It doesn't matter if you are a full-time student, have a job, or whatever. I'm sure people who are under the same circumstances (I know a few) have found time to work on their FoW armor and got it. Besides, if you really were strictly limited in time, why would you play GW in the first place?
